Acclaimed Stroud Potato Book re-issued!

Ahead of our seventh Stroud Potato Day on 4th February we have relaunched the amazing Stroud Potato Day Recipe Book. This book was launched back in 2011 - see here.

It has a new cover and the same 40 recipes from local people and restaurants including local food write Mathew Fort - plus nutritional advice re potatoes and folklore - did you know keeping ginger with potatoes helps keep both fresh!

The book will be available at various places including our stall in Merrywalks on Potato Day - but for those who want to grab a copy now go along to the Stroud Valleys PRoject and buy this excellent stocking filler for £5.00. Money from book raised going to Transition Stroud.

Well we've done it again....this time over £270 profit for Transition Stroud and Down to Earth - but more importantly some great conversations and hearing from folk who have been inspired to grow more of their food - some for the first time - plus more folks signed up to Transition Strouds newsletter. Saturday 6th February is the day!

Run by Down to Earth with Transition Stroud on Sat Feb 6th from 9am to 3pm in Merrywalks. This year we have 18 varieties of potato from the wonderful Dundry's Nursery - mostly earlies. Price: £1.75 per kg (or 20p per tuber on the day).
