Stroud Valleys Project still has some organic seed potatoes for sale, and they now have organic onion and shallot sets, too.

Potatoes –  a variety of First early, second early and maincrop (Casablanca, Maris Bard, Nadine, Kestrel and Linda) - 20p a tuber or 11 for £2.

Also if interested: Onions - Kamal and Sturon onion sets and Red Sun shallots - from £1.75 for 25 sets.

Potato Day 2014 coming 1st Feb

Saturday 1st of Feb - our annual POTATO DAY at the Merrywalks shopping centre in partnership with Transition Stroud.

Varieties available will include:

1st Earlies:  SWIFT, INTERNATIONAL KIDNEY, CASABLANCA,  ROCKET, ARAN PILOT, COLLEEN (6 vars)

2nd Earlies: CHARLOTTE, KESTREL, NADINA, MARFONA, VIVALDI, NOVELLA, ORLA (7 vars)

Main:  KING EDWARD, DESIREE, PINK FIR APPLE, SARPO MIRA, ROBINTA (5 vars)

Fruit tree sale

Not potatoes but potato growers might be interested in....Saturday 15th Feb - a fruit tree sale at Cainscross carpark next to the allotments. Down to Earth will have cherry, plum, mirabella, greengage, apple, pear, quince, crab apple, sweet chestnut, hazelnut, blackcurrant and gooseberry. You can order before the day and delivery can be arranged.

They need volunteers to help out for a couple of hours on both days - if you can help, please get in touch - click on poster for details.
